More than just a place to work

Embarking on their most recent project, FOUNDRY needed a fitout partner as ambitious and committed to growth as they are; a team with a shared passion for community-driven spaces and a reputation for delivering nothing short of perfection. Interaction fit the bill perfectly.

FOUNDRY Wandsworth is the first in the brand’s ‘V2’ series of coworking spaces – bigger, bolder and more ambitious than their previous locations in Poole, Eastbourne and Walthamstow. The workspace is located in Wandsworth’s New Acres development, which features 1100 apartments, social spaces and independent retail – all focussed on building a vibrant community.

Together with FOUNDRY and L&G, we designed and delivered a stunning coworking space with community at its heart. As FOUNDRY describe it, the space is “more than just a place to work”.

Interaction have been exceptional. They are detailed, dynamic, they’re great people. The end product is first class – we have people walk in every day and fall in love with the space.

Building community, the FOUNDRY way

Work and play

Just as community is at the heart of FOUNDRY’s ethos, we made the communal areas the beating heart of this project. The standout feature is the mezzanine kitchen and breakout area, used for everything from informal meetings and alternative desk spaces, to group lunches and free beers at 4pm. Accessible from the kitchen area is the large central courtyard which offers a space to host social events, creating a natural link between the indoors and outdoors.

Every inch of this space is designed to foster collaboration and build community: members and guests are welcomed into the space by the double-height reception area, which leads into the coworking lounge. The ground floor also features a coffee bar – perfect for hosting clients or for informal team meetings.

Depending on their work or size of their team, FOUNDRY members are able to make use of dedicated desk spaces or private offices that range in size. Either surrounding the internal courtyard or flanked by the large external windows, every private office is filled with natural light. With room for over 240 workstations, members also have access to soundproof phone booths, focus areas and open-plan collaboration zones.

The central courtyard fills the floorplate with natural light and serves as a spot for outdoor socials and BBQs.
With offices suitable for 1 to 10 people, there is a space to suit everyone.

From shell and core to beautiful office

Uniquely FOUNDRY

Designed to feel like a home-away-from-home, FOUNDRY Wandsworth merges bold, industrial elements with thoughtful touches that give the space unique character. We began this project with a blank slate, starting from the shell and core stage. From the HVAC systems to internal partitions, every aspect of this space was thought out to the highest degree of detail. Reflecting FOUNDRY’s commitment to sustainability, the space is built to meet BREEAM Excellent standards with an EPC A rating, the space is highly energy-efficient. All timber is FSC-certified, and materials and paints are VOC-free.

Raw materials and natural textures – brushed concrete beams, natural wood floors and exposed joinery – are combined with colourful elements like terrazzo flooring, patterned upholstery and vibrant accents, making the space feel distinctly FOUNDRY. Ample soft seating and cosy corners surrounded by greenery create a welcoming, homely atmosphere.

Historically, Wandsworth was home to textile mills, a heritage celebrated in the space’s styling. A double-height gallery wall displays limited-edition screenprints by London artists, paying homage to the area’s rich history. Locally sourced details, from macramé wall hangings to artwork, honour Wandsworth’s textile roots. Meeting rooms after named after Wandsworthian residents, including Louis Theroux, help celebrate the area’s history.
