They were looking to bring their multiple offices in Exeter into a central hub that reflects their brand and identity. After 8 weeks on-site and a snag free delivery, the refreshed space has been a “resounding success”.

Improving quality of life
CAT A in Action
Arcadis came to the lease-end of their multiple offices around Exeter, and the opportunity arose to create a hub to be designed in-line with their up-to-date brand and culture.
Interaction were contracted to do the full design and fit-out, and initially the work onsite began doing a considerable amount of CAT A refurbishment of the space. This work included new ceilings, lighting, electrical and a complete refurbishment of the bathrooms.
Once this had been completed the work began on creating an environment to support the aspirations and culture of Arcadis. One of the highlights of the design is the impressive reception desk that greets visitors as you enter the space. The substantial and distinctive entrance desk is marked by their brand colours. The striking reception was a key part in the design, to create a memorable and lasting first impression, including the Arcadis statement ‘Improving Quality of Life’, that is proudly displayed in this area.
A social enterprise
8 weeks to a new way of working
The project involved sourcing furniture from organisations that Arcadis support, such as Hot Foot Enterprises and New Leaf Project. These organisations are social enterprises in which furniture is made locally, in a training environment, up-skilling the community or through rehabilitation of offenders.
Interaction designed and built a contemporary meeting suite, to give a dedicated space for clients and internal meetings. As part of the meeting suite environment, Arcadis ran an internal photography competition and the winners have their photos framed on the walls, showcasing the talent of their people.
After the 8 weeks on site, the design, delivery and support from Interaction has made their move a resounding success. The snag-free project was delivered on time and on budget, but not only this, the space allows Arcadis to operate effectively, and maintain their impressive corporate image.
