A beautiful and modern space, balancing tranquillity and flexibility in equal measure

Every design is unique, and every brief is different, and The Diocese of Bath and Wells were no exception. Although a desire to increase the amount of communal spaces and adopt a more flexible, open and adaptable way of working is fairly common, in this case it was balanced with the need to create a space that provokes a sense of calm with areas for religious reflection. These subtle juxtapositions are what has made this project so special.

Interaction have journeyed with us every step of the way and have understood well our particular needs as a client.  We have greatly appreciated their experience and enthusiasm, enabling us to think differently about workplace design and activity-based working in order to create a more collaborative and effective working environment. We would, without hesitation, would recommend their services

Nick MayDiocesan Secretary, Diocese of Bath and Wells.

A holistic overhaul

A calm space with a variety of working zones

The building required a complete mechanical and electrical systems overhaul, with new Mitsubishi air conditioning systems and a new external air handling unit. Once all of the groundwork was completed the space came alive. Feature joinery pieces draw different areas together throughout the office space, creating the backbone of the calming effect. True to the brief, the space also boasts a variety of workstations, emphasising their commitment to flexible ways of working.

The Diocese employees can now enjoy ad hoc meeting pods, quiet reflection areas, an open and inviting reception area, beautiful kitchen and tea point as well as multi-use meeting rooms and their very own chapel. Their office now stands as a testament to the positive and amazing work they do every day for the community.

A bespoke chapel provides a safe area for prayer, mindfulness and quiet contemplation.
